The first week of the New Year has rolled by and it’s time to reflect on all the things that have happened during those few days. I’m happy to say that it has been a week of excitement and success. I started working on new habits, I fulfilled my weekly blog goals, I’ve been more active and creative in the kitchen and I’ve spent more quality time with my son. Compared to some of my previous weeks, this one definitely screams success!:) So I’m really thankful about it! Starting the New Year strong and determined is always a good thing.
I’m changing the Sunday Reflections format yet again. I’ve decided that I want to pay more special attention to the small things throughout the week. It’s always so easy to let them pass unnoticed amidst a busy schedule. Yet those are the things that bring joy in our hearts and make our day. That’s why I will share with you five things that I loved this week and I encourage you to do the same. Take the time and reflect on what’s happened this week, focusing on the good stuff. Then, if you want, you can share it with us in the comments below, so that the joy can be spread 🙂
So without further delay, here’s my top 5:
This smoothie may not look very attractive, but it sure was delicious and energizing!:) If you’ve read my first two posts for 2016 (5 Easy Small Steps for a Successful New Year and My Goals for 2016) you might have noticed my desire to lead a more healthy way of life. We all know how important food is when things come down to healthy living. That’s why I decided to give my blender a second chance:) This smoothie consists of oats, chia seeds, banana, strawberries, milk and yogurt. I made it the night before and refrigerated it for an instant breakfast.
I woke up at 6 am ALL WEEK! Can you believe that?! If you know me, you probably wouldn’t:) But I did it! And I plan to keep it that way from now on! I feel much better knowing that I have a couple of hours to spend however I want. I can have my quiet time, take a shower, and even do most of my writing for the day. It’s really amazing! I’m actually taking Crystal Paine’s course Make Over Your Mornings and it’s been such a huge game changer for me. I probably never would have even considered such an option before! I’m actually doing the course for the third time, but it’s my first time doing it as part of a community. That helps so much!!
The most precious moment this week!
Did I mention healthy eating?:) I tried beet salad on our New Year’s celebration and I loved it so much! Couldn’t wait to make one myself! It’s so simple to make and it’s so so fresh! I guess I’ve had too much meat lately, because any time I see a salad I fall in love!:)
And this is my main incentive for getting up early! I’m so grateful to Jennifer Roskamp from The Intentional Mom blog for creating this amazing community that does Make Over Your Mornings together! We keep each other accountable and we share struggles and successes. Jennifer does an evening scope regarding each day of the course, which starts at 9 pm. However, due to the different time zones, this means 6 am for me and has been a very powerful reason for getting up each day!
I hope you’ve had an amazing first week of January! I’ll be happy to hear all about it in the comments below.
